Computer Units Conversion
|
|
Units is a cross-platform computer program for conversion of units of quantities. It has a database of measurements, including esoteric and historical measurements.
This for instance allows conversion of velocities specified in furlongs per fortnight, and pressures specified in tons per acre.
The plain text database units.dat is a good reference in itself, as it is extensively commented and cites numerous sources.

to the various combinations of discrete states of the signal.
PLEASE NOTE: bit = smallest pice or digital data (a 1 or a 0)
byte = smallest usable pice of data, made of 8 bits
kbit = Thousand bits
mbit = Million bits
This is where it gets wierd
Kbyte = 1024 bytes
Mbyte = 1024 Kbytes
Gbyte = 1024 Mbytes
Available Conversion Units: byte, kilobyte (KB), megabyte (MB), gigabyte (GB), terabyte (TB), petabyte (PB), exabyte (EB) , bit, kilobit, megabit, gigabit, terabit, petabit, exabit.
